I was born in Vigo, Spain, in 1948. At the time the
city had only 75,000 inhabitants. Today its population has grown to
250,000 plus another 250,000 in the larger metropolitan area that surrounds
the Bay of Vigo. "Las Rias Gallegas" (the Galician
Bays) are a group of bays that penetrate deep into the mountainous
interior region of Galicia, quite similar to the Norwegian fiords, but
here they enjoy a much warmer climate than those folks in the Nordic
nation. These bays are well known for the abundance -and diversity-
of its seafood. |
